Our students
The Republic of Croatia provides incentives to strengthen and foster connections with the Croatian diaspora, as well as develop encouraging measures for their return and immigration to Croatia. Scholarships for studying the Croatian language in the Republic of Croatia are one of the activities that are implemented by the Ministry of Demography and Immigration.
The scholarship program for studying the Croatian language in the Republic of Croatia aims to teach the Croatian language, familiarise participants with Croatian culture, preserve national identity, promote unity and cooperation, encourage the return of emigrated Croats and their descendants, and facilitate their successful integration into the social and economic life of the Republic of Croatia.

- Members of the Croatian people outside the Republic of Croatia, or their descendants
- Spouses of members of the Croatian people outside the Republic of Croatia

Scholarship recipients of the Ministry of Demography and Migration have been among the most numerous participants at CEHAS since its inception. Many of them often choose to stay in Split, start businesses, and establish families.
Scholarship students are accommodated in a modernly equipped student dormitory (Campus dormitory) located near the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences.
An increasing number of people from all over the world are choosing Split as their home. Whether drawn to Dalmatia by love, work, or the desire for a peaceful and beautiful life, they all share a common goal: the desire to learn the language to better integrate and understand the culture and language surrounding them.
All students participating in one of the exchange programs at the University of Split (Erasmus, Erasmus+, CEEPUS, etc.) have the opportunity to attend the Croatian Language and Culture for Foreigners Programme free of charge.
If you want to learn the language of the country where you’ve come to study, contact us and join the many international students who have learnt to speak Croatian with us.
