About the exam
The Centre for Croatian Studies Abroad (CEHAS) organises exams in Croatian language and Latin script proficiency. This exam is intended for individuals who need proof of language proficiency to obtain a residence permit, citizenship, or the recognition of foreign educational qualifications, employment, and similar purposes.
Exams are conducted according to levels aligned with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

The exam is administered before a Commission and includes the following components:
– Listening comprehension
– Reading comprehension
– Knowledge of Croatian grammatical structures
– Written communication
– Oral communication.
Candidates must achieve a minimum of 60% of the total points to successfully pass all of the listed components.
After successfully passing the exam, candidates will receive a certificate specifying the required purpose, issued no later than one week after the exam. Certificates can be collected in person or sent by mail.
IMPORTANT!
Candidates who fail to attend their scheduled exam can participate in the next available session. The number of attempts is unlimited. However, if a candidate fails the exam, they must reapply by submitting a new application and paying the full fee again.
How to register?
Candidates must submit the following documents:
– A completed application form (HERE, link to the document)
– Proof of payment (Payment Instructions) (Link to document)
– A copy of their passport

Exams are held at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Split, Poljička cesta 35, once a month according to the following schedule:
