The Centre for Croatian Studies Abroad has been successfully operating since 2007. Its primary mission is teaching Croatian as a second language and familiarising participants with Croatian history, culture, and civilization. <\/p>\n
The Centre also focuses on scientific research and the preservation of the Croatian language and culture outside of Croatia in collaboration with various academic and cultural institutions worldwide that promote Croatian linguistic identity and culture.<\/p>\n

Since its founding in 2007, CEHAS has welcomed thousands of participants from nearly every country across all continents through various programmes. The increasing number of foreign students each year speaks volumes about the Centre’s quality. The textbook and workbook Prije\u0111imo na ti<\/strong>, authored by Josipa Korljan Be\u0161li\u0107 and Helena Buri\u0107, are the result of years of teaching Croatian for Foreigners A1 and A2 courses at CEHAS, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Split. The materials consist of 15 units designed to match the 15-week semester. Topics and content are aligned with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
Each unit includes three subunits with written texts, various tasks, grammar points, useful expressions, and listening texts. Cultural insights are included at the end of every unit, along with a comprehensive grammar summary. At the back of the textbook, students will find a Croatian-English-Spanish glossary and audio transcripts.
The materials are developed using a constructivist approach, focusing on learners and encouraging them to independently identify grammatical and linguistic patterns. Tasks promote conversational practice, with useful expressions highlighted in every subunit. The authors aim to provide engaging and motivating materials for anyone learning Croatian and to help them become more confident in language use situations.<\/p>\n
